As the news about the SIGG bottle liners is reaching the mainstream media SIGG is coming forward in responding openly to the situation they created. We are waching this closely and are following their announcements and passing them along to you.

Next: We checked all of our SIGG bottles we currently have on our shelf and are selling only bottles made after August 2008, thus with the new BPA-free Ecoliner.

A personal note:
When my wife and I were dreaming and planning of opening einmaleins we started a list of great European products and brand we wanted to carry in the store. Products that exemplify the “European lifestyle” through long-standing tradition and great product quality. SIGG was a brand I grew up using for hiking and owned several of the bottles for many years. As much as we are disappointed in SIGG’s action we welcome their honest attempt of doing things right this time around. I understand the frustration many people my feel as corporate secrecy as become as tiring and frustrating as doping in sports. Who can you trust anymore these days?
But just like boycotting the Olympics might “send a message” it also will ruin a great event for yourself. Dropping a trusted supplier and starting a relationship with a new one and unproven one is a knee-jerk reaction that might “send the right message” but also puts us on thin ice, cause we might have to change partnerships over and over again.
We stand by our SIGG bottles. We would’ve had to close our business last year, if it wouldn’t have been for SIGG.
